The goal of this video was to make an animated Instagram ad that draws new listeners to a specific artists page on Spotify. The music itself is relaxing background techno for listeners to enjoy while going about their everyday tasks. To illustrate this the artists and I came up with the idea for a monster character who is listening to the Spotify channel while doing laundry. To make the animation more interesting and relatable we decided to use a real photograph to illustrate his surroundings. The project included Illustration, Character Rigging, Animation, and some clever effects to make the monster fit into the photo background.

After illustrating the character and choosing the background image the next step was to make the character rig. This was done using After Effects and Duik.

After creating the rig I animated the character doing laundry and dancing. This involved not only character animation but also making the laundry itself look like it was a part of the photo background. The last step was to make the monster fit into the scene. Because there is a lot of backlight in the photo I created a glowing effect and animated it to react naturally to the movements of the monster
